The Stooges from Ann Arbor are back following the death of original lead guitarist Ron Asheton in early 2009. Now with later guitarist James Williamson, the Stooges are playing material from Raw Power and other releases that they hadn't since reforming earlier this decade. I just played the Seeds in Notes 73 ( ) Here we have links to the AllMusicGuide article on his passing and a couple of videos from his later years. He was booked to play the Magic Bag in Ferndale, MI on 8/15/09 with the Electric Prunes and Love with Johnny Echols in the California '66 tour, so perhaps that will now turn into a celebration of Sky and the Seeds...

That's pretty evident in Notes 61 but I did find time to feature a 2009 Black Lips cover of a 60's Iggy classic (when he was still known as Jim Osterberg), Michigan's own Human Eye and one from the latest Young Heart Attack album.
